How It Works
The Fibonacci betting system uses the famous mathematical sequence where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144.... After a loss, you move one step forward in the sequence. After a win, you move two steps backward. The goal is to recover losses gradually through a structured progression that grows less aggressively than Martingale.
Example Sequence (Base unit = $10)
Starting bankroll: $1,000
Spin 1: Loss (-$10) → Fibonacci: 1, next bet: $10
Spin 2: Loss (-$10) → Fibonacci: 1,1, next bet: $20
Spin 3: Loss (-$20) → Fibonacci: 1,1,2, next bet: $30
Spin 4: Loss (-$30) → Fibonacci: 1,1,2,3, next bet: $50
Spin 5: Win (+$50) → Move back 2 steps, next bet: $10
Net loss after 5 spins: -$20 (vs -$150 with Martingale).
Advantages
- Slower bet escalation than Martingale
- Wins cancel two losses at a time
- More sustainable over longer sessions
- Lower bankroll requirements than Martingale
Disadvantages
- Still vulnerable to long losing streaks
- Recovery requires multiple consecutive wins
- Complexity: tracking position in sequence

Key Insight
The Fibonacci system is mathematically less aggressive than Martingale but still carries significant risk. A losing streak of 12-15 spins pushes bets deep into the sequence (bet 144 on the 12th loss with a 1-unit base). The two-step regression on wins means recovery takes longer, but the bet sizes during the recovery are smaller, making bankroll depletion less sudden.
